The Healthcare Collection launches across the UK

Finding a niche is the first step on the road to success for any new business venture, and The Healthcare Collection has achieved just that.

The UK’s only managed service provider solely for the healthcare sector was founded by healthcare industry stalwarts Christine Mozzamdar and David Shirra in September 2022 following initial funding of £500,000 provided by private investors.

In order to deliver the very best results for its managed service clients, The Healthcare Collection works with leaders in across a range of modalities including cosmetic, weight loss, gynaecology and urology surgery, and with specially-selected, technologically-advanced hospital facilities across the UK.

Christine Mozzamdar and David Shirra have more than 27 years’ senior management experience in both the NHS and the independent healthcare sectors. Their vision is to lead in the elective healthcare industry through the delivery of an innovative managed service model, delivering performance improvement to clients and playing a role in driving up healthcare standards.

UK healthcare businesses are currently facing a number of challenges, from difficulty in recruiting suitable employees to controlling spiralling costs. The Healthcare Collection provides flexible, scalable outsourced services to deliver improved performance and growth to healthcare businesses ranging from facilities operators to independent practitioners, consortia, and regional and national providers.

Christine Mozzamdar, clinical services director and managing partner, said: “I’ve been a senior manager in public and private health for more than 20 years, and I know from first-hand experience that very few businesses have the range of resources that they need to optimise their operations 100% of the time. Whether it’s creating patient demand for the services they provide, running the day-to-day operations within a hospital or leading a business improvement project, there’s a real likelihood that they’re not able to cover every base internally.”

Commercial director and managing partner David Shirra commented, “Demand for quality, accessible, and affordable private healthcare is continuing to increase, partly due to an overloaded NHS struggling to cope with long waiting lists. There’s an urgent need for the private sector to evolve existing business models to deliver care to an emerging patient cohort who are new to private healthcare. We’re uniquely positioned to support our clients to do just that.”

David added, “We now employ 23 colleagues across the UK, both in the company’s 2181-square foot Shared Service Centre in central Glasgow and remotely in locations including London, Nottingham, and Manchester. Every colleague within The Healthcare Collection team has previous experience in the healthcare industry and has been handpicked for their specialist skills.

“Although we’re still in the first few months of business operations, we’re delighted to have been appointed by a number of leading healthcare clients who are seeing great results, thanks to The Healthcare Collection’s combination of experience and a fresh approach.”
