Things You Need to Know Before Visiting Ferrari World Abu Dhabi

If you love speed, thrills, and Ferrari supercars, you’ll love Ferrari World Abu Dhabi, the first-ever Ferrari-themed amusement park in the world.

Ferrari World Yas Island, Abu Dhabi is known for having the world’s fastest roller coaster, the Formula Rossa. This roller coaster accelerates from 0 to 240 kilometers per hour in a matter of 4.9 seconds. It also has the world’s highest roller coaster loop in the Flying Aces, which will let you scale a height of 63 m at a 51-degree incline.

Ferrari World doesn’t only have rides. It also has unique, Ferrari-themed experiences that you and your family are sure to love. And, of course, it has the biggest Ferrari logo anywhere in the world, measuring 65 meters by 48.5 meters. The logo has the same surface area as three tennis courts!

How to Get to Ferrari World Abu Dhabi

Ferrari World Abu Dhabi is located along Yas Leisure Drive, Yas West, Yas Island. Yas Island is a manmade entertainment and leisure island in Abu Dhabi, and Ferrari World is one of the first destinations near the island’s entrance.

It’s easy enough to get to Ferrari World. 

From anywhere in Abu Dhabi, just set Ferrari World as the destination on your navigation app. If you’re coming straight from the Abu Dhabi International Airport, it should take you only between 10 and 15 minutes to drive to Ferrari World. If you’re coming from the Abu Dhabi City center, it should take you around 30 minutes by car.

Insider’s Tip: There are more than 25 hotels on Yas Island. Instead of staying farther away, book a hotel on Yas Island and enjoy the convenience of being near Ferrari World.

There’s a shuttle service available for Yas Island hotel guests. This will take you from your hotel to the many Yas Island destinations available, so you won’t have to worry about parking, too. However, there are ample parking spaces on Ferrari World. 

Entry to Ferrari World

You need to have a ticket or an annual pass to enter Ferrari World. You can buy Ferrari World tickets and annual passes online.

Generally speaking, a ticket or a pass will give you free access to more than 37 rides and attractions in the park. However, there are paid experiences in the park. For instance, the Ferrari Driving or Passenger Experience is a paid experience. You may book and pay for this experience separately online.

Insider’s Tip: There are timed experiences and attractions in the park, mainly for those that may not have enough slots for all in-park guests. If you want to maximize your Ferrari World experience, arrive early so you can sign up for as many experiences as possible. 

Annual Pass

If you are planning to stay in Abu Dhabi for at least one year and you and your family love Ferrari World, you should seriously consider getting the Ferrari World Abu Dhabi Annual Pass.

The Ferrari World Abu Dhabi Annual Pass will let you have year-round access to Ferrari World, except during peak days: summer weekends, public holidays, half-term holidays, and other paid events. You may still enter the park during such peak days for a minimal access fee of AED 50.

The Ferrari World Abu Dhabi Annual Pass provides you a 10% discount on dining, shopping, and tickets at Ferrari World for your friends and family.

You can also opt for the Yas Theme Parks Annual Pass, which has three variants: Silver, Gold, and Diamond. These annual passes will give you year-long access to all three theme parks on Yas Island: Yas Waterworld, Warner Bros. World, and Ferrari World.

The Silver pass will give you 15% off on dining, shopping, ticket purchases, and experiences in all three theme parks. Access during public holidays, however, comes with a fee of AED 50.

The Gold and Diamond passes will give you year-long, unrestricted access to all three parks plus preferred parking and a 25% discount on shopping, dining, tickets, and experiences on all three parks. There are also other perks unique to each pass.

For instance, Diamond pass holders have unlimited quick pass privileges in all three parks and preferred parking in other select Yas Island destinations.

Insider’s Tip: There is a slight difference between the price of a Silver pass and the price of a Gold pass. If you’re planning to get a Silver pass, you should consider getting the Gold Pass instead to enjoy better value. 

Ferrari World Tickets

You can buy theme park tickets online. Getting tickets for four persons is best because purchasing three tickets gets you one complimentary ticket for free. Any ticket beyond four, moreover, may be purchased with a 25% discount.

Insider’s Tip: If you’re lucky, you may be able to get the seasonal Kids Go Free Offer, which will give one child free entry with every adult ticket purchased. This offer is usually available when school’s out.

Note, too, that Ferrari World provides full refunds on tickets. Contact the park on or before your scheduled park visit to cancel your ticket to get a full refund. However, if you contact the park after 7pm, they will not provide a refund. 

Food and Drinks 

Ferrari World does not allow guests to bring food and drinks from outside. But fear not, there are plenty of dining options inside.

Insider’s Tip: You may bring a small refillable water bottle or container. That is allowed, and there are water refilling stations all around the park for your convenience. 

The Best Time to Visit Ferrari World

Here’s some good news for you. Ferrari World Abu Dhabi is an indoor theme park, and it stays a cool 24°C all year long. So, you do not need to worry about how hot it is outside. You are going to stay cool and fresh while inside Ferrari World.

Typically, the park is open from Tuesdays until Saturdays and closed on Sundays and Mondays. It usually opens at 12 pm and stays open until 8 pm, 9 pm, or 10 pm depending on the day, season, and if there’s a paid event or not.

Insider’s Tip: Before booking your ticket for a specific date, check the park’s opening and closing hours for your target date.

Note that two attractions are not available in the zinging hot summer months: the Roof Walk and zip line. If you want to get the greatest value out of your ticket, you may want to let the hot summer pass before you visit Ferrari World Abu Dhabi.
