AAAAND RELAX… NEW ECO-CANDLE BRAND COMBINES HEALING CRYSTALS WITH SUMPTUOUS SCENTS FOR AN HOLISTIC HOME EXPERIENCE
From sweet orange and chilli pepper to classic lavender and bergamot, the spectrum of scents available in the first range of candles from newly launched hand-poured soy candle Serenity Scents & Lifestyle are sure to prove that one is never enough.
Each of the dreamy collection of candles has been crafted to capture and recreate emotions and states of wellbeing, with a healing crystal embedded within it to enhance the process. Not only are they a beautiful addition to the home but the beginning of a new crystal obsession.
Founder Karen Davis came up with the concept four years ago and has spent many months testing ingredients, techniques and fragrances to create her first collection, which includes CALM – a heavenly combination of pear and freesia set with a blue howlite crystal to reduce anxiety, CLEANSE – a classic lime, basil and mandarin scent and set with green fluorite to dispel negative energy, and PEACE – a blend of rose and neroli set with a snow white quartz to aid clarity.
Karen says: “I’ve always been convinced of the healing power of crystals, and like many, I love being surrounded by candles, scented or otherwise, for the relaxing sense of wellbeing they bring, and one evening the idea of combining the two in order to create a lifestyle brand popped into my head, but stayed firmly on the backburner as family life and the day job took priority.
“Losing a good friend this year gave me the kick up the backside I’d needed: he was always one of the first to tell me to stop procrastinating and talking about ‘one day I will…’ and just get on and do it, so I got on and did it – I turned my cottage kitchen into an apothecary, banished the family and set about blending, pouring, sniffing and perfecting.”
The vegan-friendly eco soy wax candles are manufactured from renewable sources, are 100 per cent plant-based, sustainable, biodegradable and free from petroleum, pesticide and herbicide residue.
While Karen is constantly experimenting to create new limited editions to establish which combinations are best received, Serenity has nine key fragrances to choose from:
- AWAKEN – blending pink grapefruit and vanilla set with Ametrine to enhance mental and spiritual clarity
- BALANCE – combining lavender and bergamot embedded with green aventurine, to encourage optimism and a zest for life
- CALM – a combination of pear and freesia set with blue howlite to reduce anxiety, tension and anger
- CLEANSE – combining lime, basil and mandarin embedded with a green fluorite stone to dispel negative energy
- DE-STRESS – blending fig and vetiver set with black onyx to enhance emotional and physical strength and stamina
- ENERGISE – a combination of sweet orange and chilli pepper embedded with a citrine to enhance concentration and revitalise the mind
- JOY – created from white geranium set with a carnelian to stimulate creativity and self-motivation
- LOVE – a heady wild bluebell fragrance set with a rose quartz, the stone of universal love, which helps to restore trust and harmony in relationships
- PEACE – combining rose and neroli embedded with a snow white quartz to increase focus and aid clarity of thought
Karen said: “This particular core range of emotive fragrances has been chosen to aid the key ‘states’ that people want to encourage or dispel – in short, we all want to feel more positive, more relaxed and peaceful, and less anxious, negative and subdued.
“I’m thoroughly enjoying creating new combinations and I love the feedback and suggestions I get from customers regarding scents they’d like to try and emotions they’d like to see incorporated within the range.”
