Bamboo silk kimono wrap is the perfect Christmas Gift

Who doesn’t want a little luxury in their life this Christmas? A beautiful hand dyed bamboo silk kimono is the perfect gift for the woman who wants to not only look stunning but wants to support a British, sustainable brand.

ArtKatsura launched their resortwear collections just as the world went into lockdown. However the last few months has given the new business time to work locally, connect with people in the community and develop new lines ready for when we are all able to travel once again.

Creating fabric designs from original canvas paintings to hand dying natural fabrics using the traditional Japanese method of Shibori tie dyeing. Each garment is lovingly made in Tunbridge Wells and then showcased in their studio in Wadhurst, East Sussex.

Using bamboo silk to create a sustainable collection

While much of the collection is full colour and bold design, the latest Shibori Collection is working with natural fabrics and indigo. Working with sustainable fabrics such as bamboo silk & jersey, linen and cotton, the collection is more suited to our stay at home lifestyle than travelling to far flung destinations. The silk kimono wrap and linen trousers are perfect for working from home and the bamboo jersey wide palazzo pants and batwing top are ideal for curling up on the sofa or indulging in a spot of living room yoga!

The great thing about the kimono wrap is that is can be worn so many different ways, from the traditional wrap to winter scarf or even turn it into a halterneck, strapless or one shoulder top. You can even wear it as a dress, sarong skirt or even a bag! But when we are ready to travel again it will be the perfect holiday accessory.

Each item takes 2 days to make and hand dye and no two garments are the same making them totally unique.
