Escaping to Wellness: A Tranquil Retreat at Beaverbrook House

Last week, amidst a whirlwind of family emergencies and work obligations, I found myself hesitating before accepting an invitation to Beaverbrook House. Located in the serene countryside of Surrey, Beaverbrook is not just a hotel; it’s a sanctuary for the soul, offering an exclusive blend of luxury, wellness, and tranquility. As I reflect on my recent stay, I realise that it was a decision I nearly passed up.

In the days leading up to my departure, life had thrown its fair share of challenges my way. My father had suffered a fall, fracturing his hip, while my daughter battled a stubborn bronchial infection. Juggling hospital visits and comforting my child left me torn, questioning whether I should cancel my plans for the press trip. Yet, amidst the chaos, a voice of reason emerged – the gentle reminder from my sister that self-care is not a luxury but a necessity. And so, with a mix of apprehension and anticipation, I set on my journey to Beaverbrook, in the beautiful Surrey countryside.

Arriving at Beaverbrook

Upon arrival, I was greeted by the grandeur of Beaverbrook’s estate, its lush green golf courses and woodland stretching as far as the eye could see. A courteous attendant guided me through the winding roads of the estate, leading me to my final destination – ‘The Village.’ Nestled within this haven of tranquility, Mrs. Beeton’s Restaurant awaited, offering a warm embrace.

Over the next two days, I found myself immersed in a world of wellness and rejuvenation. From invigorating pilates and yoga sessions to indulgent spa treatments, Beaverbrook offered a sanctuary for both body and mind. The serene ambiance of the indoor and outdoor pools provided the perfect backdrop for moments of reflection, while the flavours of The Garden House tantalised my taste buds.

As I explored the culinary offerings of Beaverbrook, from the Japanese-inspired delicacies of The Dining Room to the comforting embrace of The Pizzeria, I marvelled at the diversity of experiences that awaited within this hidden gem. And amidst it all, the attentive staff, ever-present yet unobtrusive, ensured that every need was met with care and consideration.

But perhaps the true essence of Beaverbrook lies in its ability to transport you back in time, to a world where moments are savoured and memories are made. From leisurely bike rides through the Surrey countryside to spirited games of boules in the courtyard, every experience is imbued with a sense of nostalgia and wonder.

As I said goodbye to Beaverbrook, I carry with me not just memories of a restful retreat, but a renewed sense of vitality. And while I may not know when I’ll return, one thing is certain – Beaverbrook will forever hold a special place in my heart.

Whether you choose to stay in the stately House, the idyllic Garden House, the charming Village, or the cosy Coach House, Beaverbrook beckons with open arms, inviting you to embark on a journey of self-discovery and renewal. So why wait? Escape to Beaverbrook and discover the art of wellness amidst the beauty of Surrey’s countryside.
