Other Foods Donates all profit to Cool Earth

‘Future Taste’ Trial brand Other Foods Donates all profit to Cool Earth in response to Amazon emergency appeal

The UK’s one and only mushroom snack company is supporting Cool Earth (*UK Registered Charity, No: 1117978) in their work with rainforest communities in the Amazon and around the tropics to contribute deforestation and its role in climate change.

Other Foods will be donating all of its profit throughout Sainsbury’s 16 weeks trial programme ‘Taste of the Future’ to the charity’s vital work, supporting communities to keep their forest healthy and reaching more people who need help to protect the lungs of the Earth. Once the trial ended, Other Foods will support Cool Earth via donation for its project in Asháninka.

Dr Daniel Pan, Co-Founder of Other Foods, commented: “The food system is the single biggest threat to nature today. The reason we launched the business was to provide sustainably sourced, plant-based whole food snacks to the world. Rainforest is a key part in fighting the climate crisis. Without this ally, there will be no sustainability not only to our food resources but also to the future of our ecological system on the planet.”

He went on to add: “Food entrepreneurs in our generation are very keen on protecting our planet with the most sustainable and innovative approach, especially among founders of challenger brands. Right now Amazon is on fire which makes us powerless; As a small startup Other Foods simply couldn’t save the rainforest on our own but together we could really make a difference and save our rainforest.”

Cool Earth spokesman said: “Rainforest is Earth’s most essential ecosystem and we all depend on it for our survival. We must take essential climate action supporting communities to keep their forest standing.”

Other Foods offer crunchy gourmet mushroom snacks that are vegan, gluten free, 100% natural and vacuum slow cooked with sustainably sourced specialty mushrooms.

There are four different varieties, including Crunchy Shiitake Mushrooms, Crunchy Oyster Mushrooms, Crunchy Trumpet Mushrooms and one special addition Crunchy Ladies Fingers Okra.

Other foods snack range will be available at Sainsbury’s ‘Taste of the Future’ bay and the programme is mainly supporting young innovative healthy food entrepreneurs. From 29th September, found in 70 of the forward-thinking food retailer’s most influential stores, the bay will feature an eclectic huddle of intriguing food and drink brands, including Other Foods and many other innovative snacks.
