Roam, the travel platform published by Wellbeing Magazine, has unveiled a major redesign of Roam.uno, introducing a more immersive way for readers to discover destinations, wellness hotels, retreats and travel experiences around the world.

The relaunch comes as Wellbeing Magazine celebrates its 20th year of publishing and marks the next stage in the development of Roam, which began as the magazine’s dedicated wellbeing travel section before launching as its own digital platform two years ago.

The redesigned website places greater emphasis on discovery, inspiration and personal travel planning, bringing together editorial storytelling with interactive features designed to help readers find places they would genuinely like to experience.

Visitors can explore destinations and properties, discover wellbeing experiences, save favourites, pin places to their own virtual travel map, keep notes on places they have visited or would like to visit, and share discoveries with friends.

Rather than functioning simply as another travel directory, Roam has been designed around the idea that the places we choose to visit can play an important role in how we feel.

From restorative retreats and thermal spa destinations to mountain hotels, coastal escapes, nature-led experiences, longevity programmes and culturally immersive journeys, Roam explores the growing relationship between travel and wellbeing.

A New Way to Discover Wellness Travel

The redesigned Roam platform introduces a more visual and accessible editorial format, allowing readers to understand a destination or property at a glance while still enjoying the deeper storytelling associated with Wellbeing Magazine.

Hotel and retreat features can include practical information alongside editorial coverage of the setting, accommodation, food, wellbeing experiences, spa facilities and the type of traveller a destination may suit.

Selected properties and destinations can also appear on the Roam interactive map, helping readers build their own collection of places around the world.

Rachel Branson, Founder of Haywood Media and Editor-in-Chief of Wellbeing Magazine and Roam, said:

“For twenty years, travel has been an important part of the way we explore wellbeing at Wellbeing Magazine. I spend several months each year travelling in search of destinations, hotels, retreats and experiences that are changing the way we think about travelling well.

“With the new Roam, we wanted to create something that went beyond simply reading a travel article. We want people to discover somewhere extraordinary, save it, add it to their map, remember why it inspired them and perhaps one day experience it for themselves.”

From Digital Platform to Annual Roam Magazine

The redesign also lays the foundations for the next chapter of the Roam brand.

In 2027, Haywood Media will launch a dedicated annual Roam print magazine, bringing together a curated collection of destinations, interviews, travel stories, emerging wellness trends and exceptional places from around the world.

The annual publication will complement the continuously evolving digital platform while offering the slower, more immersive reading experience of a beautifully produced travel magazine.

It will explore the changing face of wellbeing travel, including spa and thermal traditions, preventative health, longevity, nature-based wellbeing, movement, food, cultural experiences and destinations creating new approaches to healthier living.

The magazine will also provide new opportunities for hotels, retreats, tourism organisations and wellness destinations to reach an audience actively looking for meaningful travel experiences.

Opportunities for Hotels, Retreats and Travel Brands

Alongside commissioned reviews and editorial travel features, Roam is introducing new ways for hotels, retreats, destinations and their PR representatives to showcase their stories across the platform.

Traditional travel and hospitality press releases can be developed into Roam’s new editorial format, creating informative destination profiles that are easier for readers to explore and save.

Where relevant, coverage can also connect with the wider Haywood Media ecosystem, including Wellbeing Magazine and its digital distribution channels.

Roam will continue to work with travel PR agencies, tourism organisations, independent retreat operators, wellness resorts and hospitality brands whose destinations align with the publication’s focus on travel, wellbeing and positive experiences.

Twenty Years of Wellbeing Publishing

The launch comes during an important year for Haywood Media, as Wellbeing Magazine celebrates 20 years of publishing.

Over the past two decades, the magazine has explored changing attitudes towards health and wellbeing, from nutrition, movement and mental wellbeing to preventative health, longevity, wellness technology and the environments in which people live and travel.

Roam represents the evolution of that editorial heritage into a dedicated travel brand for a new generation of wellbeing-conscious travellers.

Branson added:

“Travel is changing. People still want beautiful hotels and unforgettable experiences, but increasingly they also want to know how a place will make them feel.

“Roam is about discovering places that give us something back — whether that is rest, adventure, perspective, connection, better health or simply the opportunity to experience somewhere completely different.”

Discover Roam

The redesigned Roam platform is now live at Roam.uno, with new destinations, hotels, retreats and travel stories being added throughout the year.

The inaugural annual Roam magazine will launch in 2027.
