Struggling with Bad Breath? Here’s What You Can Do!

Having a less-than-perfect smile or a bad breath are some very common problems. For the former, one might consider fixing the problem through dental veneers Turkey or some other suitable dental treatment. And as for the latter, there are some things that might be able to help you!

Try Chewing Gum

Chewing on some sugar-free gum can be a quick and easy way to get rid of some bad breath. For one, the mintiness of the gum can help, but with chewing gum, you can also stimulate the production of saliva, which can also help with this problem.

It is, however, important to keep in mind that you shouldn’t think of chewing gum as a miracle cure for bad breath. If you have an underlying problem, such as a build-up of plaque or an infection, you need to get that problem addressed as soon as possible.

Stay Hydrated With Water

Xerostomia, also known as dry mouth, is also a condition that can make your breath smell bad, and one of the ways in which it might be helped is water. It will not only wash away some of the stuff inside your mouth, but it will also keep your mouth from getting too dry.

Try Out A Fresh Breath Toothpaste

There are many, many toothpaste brands out there that have a whole category of toothpastes dedicated to having fresh breath. There can be different flavours to choose from as well, apart from mint, such as green tea or even lime.

In addition to the nice odour such toothpastes can leave behind, of course, brushing the teeth itself can help you get rid of the odour-causing bacteria inside your mouth. But be sure to floss as well as the bristles of your toothbrush alone might not be enough to get into the areas between your teeth.

Scrape Your Tongue

Might sound odd, but tongue scraping is also used to get rid of bad breath. The idea behind it is that the bacteria that cause bad breath can be found on your tongue, so if you scrape the gunk off of it, it can help you get rid of the yellow or white coloured film on your tongue as well as give you a nicer breath.

However, while it might feel very satisfying to watch all the stuff on your tongue be gathered onto this tool, you should keep in mind that it might not work, especially in the long run.

Think Twice About Some Foods

Some of the foods that we eat can also give a very strong odour. Garlic and onions are infamous for that, but there are others as well, such as cheese, citrus fruits, coffee, or alcohol that can work in different ways to make your breath smell bad. Too many sweet foods can also be bad news for your breath, so you might want to hold off on indulging too much of that as well.

Conclusion

Bad breath can be a very embarrassing thing as it can cause a lot of discomfort to not just the people around you but, of course, yourself as well. However, it’s important to keep in mind that it can have varied causes, so you need to get a proper diagnosis of your problem through a dental professional.
