Transforming Performance: The Fit to Perform Initiative
Fit2 Perform: How Steffan Lloyd-Evans and Bobby Windebank Are Changing the Game for Performers
When you think of performers and actors, dancers, singers, you might picture the glitz and glamour of the stage. But behind the curtain, the reality is often far less glamorous. Long hours, grueling schedules, and relentless pressure to look and perform a certain way can take a toll on both body and mind. For Steffan and Bobby, this reality hit close to home. And it’s why they created Fit2 Perform, a company dedicated to helping performers not just survive, but truly thrive.
A Meeting of Minds and Hearts
Steffan and Bobby’s story begins in a dressing room at the London Palladium, where they were both performing in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. It was during the height of COVID-19, and the production was one of the first to reopen in the West End. “It was an incredibly challenging time,” Steffan recalls. “The show was physically demanding, and the added stress of performing during a pandemic was overwhelming.”
But in that shared dressing room, something special happened. As they talked about their experiences in the industry, they realised they shared a common frustration: the lack of support for performers’ wellbeing. “We kept coming back to the same question,” Steffan says. “Why isn’t there more focus on keeping performers healthy, not just physically, but mentally and emotionally too?”
That question became the seed for Fit2 Perform. “We didn’t just want to create another fitness program,” Bobby explains. “We wanted to build something that would truly support performers in every aspect of their lives.”
More Than Just Fitness
The name Fit2 Perform might sound like it’s all about physical fitness, but for Steffan and Bobby, it’s about so much more. “Being ‘fit’ isn’t just about having a six-pack or being able to lift heavy weights,” Steffan says. “It’s about being fit for your purpose. For performers, that purpose is the stage. And to perform at your best, you need to be healthy in every way: body, mind, and spirit.”
This holistic approach is at the heart of what they do. When a performer comes to Fit2 Perform, the first step is always about understanding their unique needs and goals. “We don’t believe in one-size- fits-all solutions,” Bobby says. “Everyone is different, and we want to create a plan that works for them as an individual.”
That plan might include strength training, nutritional guidance, mental health support, or even advice on managing the social and environmental stresses of life in the performing arts. “It’s about looking at the whole picture,” Steffan adds. “Because if one piece is out of balance, it can affect everything else.”
A Personal Mission
For Steffan, this work is deeply personal. A few years ago, he faced a life-threatening health crisis that changed everything. “I was in the hospital, fighting for my life,” he shares. “I went from being in great shape to losing over a stone in just 48 hours. It was terrifying.”
During his recovery, Steffan had to rebuild not just his body, but his entire sense of self. “I realised how fragile life is, and how important it is to take care of yourself in every way,” he says. That experience inspired him to dive deep into the world of health and wellness, earning certifications as a master trainer, nutrition coach, and life coach. “I wanted to learn everything I could so I could help others avoid going through what I did.”

Bobby, too, brings a wealth of experience to the table. During the COVID-19 lockdown, he launched Bobby’s Bakery, an online fitness platform that started with just 30 participants and quickly grew to thousands. “It was amazing to see how much of an impact we could have,” Bobby says. “People were telling us that it wasn’t just about the workouts—it was about feeling connected and supported during a really tough time.”
Changing the Narrative
One of the biggest challenges Steffan and Bobby are tackling is the toxic culture that still exists in parts of the performing arts industry. “Performers are often told they’re too fat, too thin, or not good enough,” Steffan says. “It’s heartbreaking, and it leads to so many issues—eating disorders, anxiety, depression. We want to change that.”
They’re doing this by working directly with drama schools, production companies, and individual performers. “We’ve created courses and workshops to help people build a strong foundation for their careers,” Bobby explains. And we’re starting to see real change. Producers are beginning to recognise the value of investing in their performers’ wellbeing.
The Power of Community
At its core, Fit2 Perform is about more than just fitness or nutrition it’s about creating a community where performers feel supported and empowered. “We want people to know they’re not alone,” Bobby says. “Whether it’s through our coaching, our podcast, or our workshops, we’re here to help.”

Their podcast, which is over 3 years young, is a testament to this mission. “We’ve had incredible guests, experts in nutrition, mental health, and performance, who share their knowledge and insights,” Steffan says. “It’s been amazing to see the impact it’s had.”
As Fit2 Perform continues to grow, Steffan and Bobby remain committed to their mission. “We’re always learning, always improving,” Steffan says. “Whether it’s new certifications, courses, or scientific studies, we’re constantly expanding our knowledge so we can better serve our clients.”
Their ultimate goal? To create a lasting change in the performing arts industry. “We want performers to feel empowered, supported, and healthy—not just for their careers, but for their entire lives,” Steffan says. “That’s what Fit to Perform is all about.”
For Steffan and Bobby, this isn’t just a business—it’s a calling. And as they continue to inspire and support performers around the world, one thing is clear: they’re not just helping people survive the industry. They’re helping them thrive.
