From Corporate Ladder to Yoga Nomad

Meet the yoga teacher aiming to bring JOY to people’s lives

It was a vivid dream that led former marketing director and party girl Kaye Sutcliffe to turn her back on the corporate world, take to the road and find inner joy as a yoga nomad, at one point only having £50 to her name.

Now, Kaye (46) from Oldham,is about to embark on an exciting collaborative tour around the UK, teaming up with other wellness facilitators to bring a ripple of JOY – Journey Of You – across the nation, after which she plans to return to the corporate world, helping individuals find their inner joy and create a fulfilling and balanced life.

Embarking on a personal transformation that led her from the hectic corporate world in London to a life of freedom and fulfilment, Kaye Sutcliffe has turned adversity into a mission to inspire and empower others.

At 40, life looked bleak for Kaye. Working tirelessly, partying even harder and dealing with painful thoughts of feeling ‘past it’, she found herself troubled by acne, a physical manifestation of her inner turmoil.

This was the start of the journey that led her to take to the road for six months, travelling through Portugal and Morocco in a 1994 VW van, teaching yoag along the way.

It was the profound dream that sparked the idea for Yoga on the Move, a mobile yoga studio. The concept was so vivid that she immediately purchased the URL, though she didn’t yet know what it would become.

Embarking on a journey of self-discovery, she committed to Kundalini Yoga teacher training for personal development. The more she practised, the more she healed and her desire to help others grew. During lockdown, she began teaching online yoga, offering others the same solace she had found.

In the quiet moments of meditation, the idea of the travelling yoga studio returned. It became not just a dream but an achievable reality. As a single, child-free woman, she asked herself, “What do I have to lose?” and, with that, she embraced van life, purchasing a 1994 VW T4 named Eileen, and embarked on a new journey teaching ‘yoga on the move’.

After three challenging years on the road in the UK, teaching yoga in new areas where she was virtually unknown, living on the road, she faced several setbacks. There were moments she had to return to the corporate world, taking up part-time freelance roles to sustain her lifestyle.

However, upon becoming a life coach, she realised the urgency of her mission. She recognised that people were in dire need of guidance and role models who dared to change the narrative.

In November, she packed everything she had into Eileen and headed to Portugal, and then on to Morocco, teaching yoga and facing both substantial financial and emotional obstacles. Yet, she persisted. Her drive, passion and conviction that she had something unique to offer kept her going against all odds.

Kaye returns to the UK in early May and the JOY tour kicks off immediately, running until the end of June, aiming to promote healing, mindfulness and to raise people’s vibration, enabling them to find joy in everything they do. It’s about empowering individuals to initiate change when life feels stagnant and to embark on their own personal journeys towards fulfilment.

Following the JOY tour, Kaye aims to return to the corporate world, equipped with her unique skill set and experiences. She plans to offer comprehensive solutions to corporate companies, employees and individuals, with a focus on developing their intuitive, energetic and creative abilities. Her aim is to promote a profound sense of inner connection, inner peace and productivity within the workplace.

Through her coaching, she will empower individuals to effectively manage and communicate stress, fostering a harmonious and positive work environment. By incorporating conscious communication practices, she will guide employees in expressing themselves with clarity and empathy, enhancing collaboration and reducing conflicts.

By infusing the workplace with mindfulness techniques and promoting work/life balance, Kaye envisions a transformation in how individuals approach their work. Through her guidance, she aims to create an atmosphere where employees feel inspired, motivated and engaged. By nurturing a culture of well-being and joy, she believes that productivity and innovation will flourish, ultimately leading to the overall success of the organisation.

Kaye’s mission is to empower individuals to tap into their full potential, both personally and professionally. By integrating intuitive, energetic and creative practices, she is dedicated to helping individuals find their inner joy and create a fulfilling and balanced life.

Join her journey, find your inner joy and let her story empower you to create your own path of fulfilment.
