New collaboration combines plant-based recipe boxes with world-leading microbiome science to help people improve digestion, support metabolic health and eat more diverse plants.

Leading plant-based recipe and ready-meal subscription service GRUBBY has partnered with gut health science company ZOE to launch a collection of fibre-rich, plant-diverse meals designed to support the gut microbiome and make healthy eating easier and more enjoyable.
Available from 25 June, the exclusive range features chef-created dishes reviewed and approved by Dr Federica Amati, Head of Nutrition Science at ZOE and author of The Appetite Reset: How to Eat, Drink and Thrive Before, During and After GLP-1s.
The collaboration brings together GRUBBY’s globally inspired flavours with ZOE’s evidence-based nutrition science, with every meal assessed against ZOE’s nutritional criteria and awarded a ZOE-approved score.
What Is the GRUBBY and ZOE Collaboration?
The partnership aims to help people eat more plants, increase fibre intake and support gut health without relying on restrictive diets.
The first 1,250 customers will also receive a sample of ZOE Daily30, a whole-food supplement developed by Dr Amati and her team. Daily30 contains more than 30 different plant ingredients, including vegetables, legumes, whole grains, berries, nuts, seeds, mushrooms, seaweed and green tea kombucha.
Each serving provides 4g of fibre and is designed to help increase plant diversity—one of the key factors associated with a healthier gut microbiome.
According to ZOE’s clinical trials, Daily30 can help improve digestion, support gut health and increase energy levels.
Why Is Plant Diversity Important for Gut Health?
Research from ZOE, which runs the world’s largest nutrition and gut health study involving more than 300,000 participants, consistently shows that eating around 30 different plants each week is one of the most effective ways to support a healthy microbiome.
Dr Federica Amati explains:
“We know from decades of research that whole grains, legumes, nuts and seeds, fruits, vegetables and omega-3-rich foods are consistently associated with longer, healthier lives. The challenge has never been understanding the science—it has been making these foods accessible and exciting to eat. That is exactly what GRUBBY and Daily30 are designed to do.”
Why Fibre Matters
Despite growing awareness around gut health, only around 5% of UK adults consume the recommended 30g of fibre per day. The average intake is closer to 19g.
Many of the meals in the new collection deliver substantial amounts of fibre in a single serving. Some provide up to 23g, helping people move closer to their daily targets while increasing the variety of plants they consume.
Dr Amati says:
“The gut microbiome responds directly to what we feed it. Our gut microbes produce signals that help regulate appetite and communicate feelings of satisfaction to the brain, but they can only do this when supplied with fibre-rich, plant-diverse foods.”
Can Plant-Based Meals Support Metabolic Health and Appetite Regulation?
In her new book The Appetite Reset, Dr Amati argues that supporting metabolic health is less about restriction and more about nourishment.
Rather than focusing on calorie counting, she advocates increasing fibre, plant diversity and quality protein to naturally regulate hunger and support the body’s metabolic processes.
This message has become increasingly relevant as interest grows around GLP-1 medications and long-term approaches to sustainable weight management.
GRUBBY Founder: Plant-Based Food Should Never Mean Compromise
Martin Holden-White, founder of GRUBBY, said:
“We’ve always believed that plant-based food can be the most exciting choice on the table, without compromise. Working with ZOE, Professor Tim Spector and Dr Federica Amati has allowed us to combine incredible flavour with the cutting-edge gut health science ZOE has pioneered.”
Dr Federica Amati added:
“We are living through a genuine food revolution, and the science is clear on what supports a healthy gut microbiome and naturally regulated appetite. What I love about GRUBBY is that flavour comes first and nutrition becomes the clever bonus. That’s how we encourage more people to eat more plants more often.”

How much fibre should adults eat daily?
UK guidelines recommend 30g of fibre per day, although most adults consume significantly less.
Can plant-based meals help regulate appetite?
Fibre-rich, protein-rich meals can help support satiety and may naturally regulate appetite by nourishing the gut microbiome and influencing signals between the gut and brain.
