This December, Glasgow’s Oran Mor premieres Morag Fullarton’s new theatre production, ‘It’s a Wonderful Life…Mostly’. Fullarton, known for five-star hits including ‘Doris, Dolly & The Dressing Room Divas’, ‘Casablanca: The Gin Joint Cut’ and ‘A Bottle of Wine & Patsy Cline’, returns with a fresh take on the Christmas classic.
Inspired by Frank Capra’s iconic film, this adaptation doesn’t just tug at your heartstrings – it gives them a joyful jingle, blending sharp comedy, warmth, and ingenious stagecraft into a show that’s as moving as it is hilarious.
The cast is cracker-sharp: multi award-winning comedian, actor and writer Chris Forbes (Scot Squad, Andy Murray’s other brother) stars as George Bailey, joined by the brilliant Kevin Lennon, Simon Donaldson (Outlander), and the glorious Rosie Graham (Boarders, The School for Good and Evil, Sanditon).
With Fullarton’s inventive direction, Hilary Brooks’ original score and a dynamite cast, the show promises surprises and delight at every turn.
As Morag Fullarton herself says, “I love tinkering with classic film scripts and reimagining them for the stage. My aim with ‘It’s A Wonderful Life’- a film I adore- was to capture its giant heart and translate it into a joyous theatrical experience. Of course, there are challenges – how do you create someone jumping in a raging river? A car chase? You’ll just have to come along and see!”
