Dr. Dain Heer: Wellbeing, Wealth, and the Power of Perception

As change is the only constant, many people find themselves clinging to outdated structures that no longer serve them. Dr. Dain Heer, the internationally renowned co-creator of Access Consciousness, offers a refreshing perspective on navigating these turbulent times with consciousness, curiosity, and choice.

With a global presence spanning 180 countries, three thriving companies, ownership of multiple ranches, a castle, and a stake in an eco-resort in Costa Rica, Dr. Heer is a living testament to what’s possible when we step beyond limitations.

Recently, I had the privilege of sitting down with him for an in-depth conversation that explored:

What’s up for people right now?  What’s up for the Earth?  What’s up for the universe?

This article delves into the profound insights he shared, along with practical tools for transformation.

What’s Up for People? – The Possibility of Change

“What’s up for people is several things,” Dr. Heer began. “One is… I think there’s an awareness that change is underfoot and change is necessary. But a lot of them are trying to cling to the structures that used to work—but they’re not working anymore.”

This resistance, he explained, creates an essential pivot point:

“Which on the one hand is a great thing because it creates a possibility for people to start getting into question instead of functioning from their old conclusions… And also, though, it can be really uncomfortable, and people mistake uncomfortable as if there’s something wrong.”

The Power of Questions Over Conclusions

Rather than resisting discomfort, Dr. Heer suggests embracing it as an invitation for growth. His approach revolves around asking empowering questions:

What is this?

What is this inviting me to change?

What can I change that I haven’t chosen because I’ve just been comfortable?

“When people get uncomfortable, that’s an invitation to do something different,” he noted. “Unfortunately, we live in a world where people will deal with low-level pain indefinitely and only change when the pain level rises.”

This is particularly evident in financial struggles and fear about the future. To shift this, Dr. Heer advocates for questions like:

What else is possible I’ve never considered?

What’s right about this I’m not getting?

What’s right about me I’m not getting?

How does it get any better than this?

“It starts opening the space for something different to occur,” he said.

Breaking Free from Doomsday Narratives

Dr. Heer also addressed humanity’s tendency to catastrophise:

“The world would tell us that everything is going to hell in a handbasket… The world’s been doing that ever since there’s been a world.”

He shared an anecdote about finding an 1865 newspaper article lamenting how technology was ruining society—proof that every generation believes its challenges are unprecedented.

“Same shit, different decade, different century,” he quipped. “We don’t realise this has been going on forever. We keep thinking, ‘Oh, this is brand new.’ No, it’s not.”

Choosing a Different Path

The key, according to Dr. Heer, is recognising that we always have a choice:

“We can change the narrative for ourselves and be the inspiration for others to know it’s possible.” But we’ve got to be willing to take a different path than other people are taking… It starts by asking some questions, but also getting a different perspective.”

What’s Up for the Earth? – Becoming Stewards, Not Exploiters

When asked about the planet, Dr. Heer emphasised that the Earth is not just a resource but a living, conscious entity:

“My sense is the Earth is asking us to become its stewards, not the usury people that we have thought we were entitled to be… It’s inviting us to walk with it.”

He referenced Einstein’s belief that every molecule in the universe has consciousness a concept increasingly supported by quantum physics.

“It’s no different with the Earth… We think that somehow an entire planet would not have a consciousness that we can tap into.”

Communion with Nature

I shared a personal story with Dr Heer about Spain’s recent drought-breaking rains:

“I live in the south of Spain… We’ve had heaps of rain, and everything is so green now. The trees that were brown are alive again. I asked, ‘What is the Earth requiring?’ And the answer was in the vibrant renewal I witnessed.”

He also spoke of people who, through conscious connection with the Earth, have experienced miraculous protection—homes spared in wildfires or floods.

“When you function from the awareness of the Earth’s consciousness, you can communicate with it… It’s how you make your life work.”

The Role of “Weirdos” in Shifting Paradigms

“The original meaning of ‘weird’ was ‘of spirit, fate, or destiny,’” Dr. Heer pointed out. “It takes enough weirdos like us to actually acknowledge the Earth, treat it as our home, and inspire others.”

He cited the first Earth Day as an example of collective intention creating change:

“It took a bunch of people saying, ‘We’ve got to start somewhere.’ Where can you start?”

What’s Up for the Universe? – Expanding Beyond the World’s Limitations

Dr. Heer introduced a fascinating distinction:

“We have psychic abilities with the world—tapping into all its fixed points of view—and psychic abilities with the universe, which sets you and the universe free.”

Most people, he explained, operate from the first mode, absorbing societal judgments. But when we align with the universe’s consciousness, we step into true co-creation.

“The universe is applauding our transformation… If we recognise that consciousness pervades everything, we realise there’s no judgement—just infinite possibility.”

Uluru and the “Being the Source” Class

Dr. Heer’s recent trip to Uluru (Australia’s sacred monolith) left a profound impact:

“Uluru is one of my favourite places on the planet… It’s one of the greatest contributions to cutting through bullshit I’ve ever experienced.”

He described lying against the rock at dawn, feeling its energy:

“It communicated something… so incredibly present, pervasive, and gifting. It allows you to see how irrelevant limitations are.”

His “Being the Source” class, held there, explored how each person is a source for change:

“The world tells us we’re small and it’s big. But when you tap into the universe’s energy, that illusion dissolves.”

Bonus Insights: Bodies, Chronic Disease, and Collapsed Zones

Dr. Heer views chronic illness as a manifestation of unaddressed energetic imbalances:

“Our bodies show us the points of view we’re making real… How much of your disease is actually where you’re trying to heal others’ dis-ease?”

He advocates for asking:

Who does this belong to? (Is it even yours?)

What points of view are creating this?

What can I change?

The “Collapsed Zone” Phenomenon

Discovered while working with a traumatised horse, a “collapsed zone” occurs when someone (or an animal) withdraws from their energetic space after trauma.

“When you expand the zone back out, they return to peace… It’s like they’re comfortable in their own skin again.”

I ask Dain What’s your relationship with Gary Douglas (Access Founder)?

“It’s unlike anything… We’ve been best friends for 25 years, co-creators, roommates, and constant challengers of each other’s growth. The hallmark? Caring without need, exploration without limitation.”

Their bond, encapsulated in a single hug I witnessed years ago, radiates a rare energy—proof that true partnership transcends labels.

Call to Consciousness

Dr. Dain Heer’s wisdom reminds us that change begins with a question. Whether navigating personal struggles, environmental crises, or cosmic expansion, the tools of Access Consciousness offer a pathway to freedom.

As he aptly puts it:

“The life you have now is the result of past choices. The future starts with one different choice today.”

Are you ready to ask questions?
