blue aurora blueberry wine

Gluten free and vegan-friendly English Blueberry wine

Award-winning Blue Aurora blueberry wine was born out of a desire to use every berry lovingly grown on the family fruit farm owned and run by the Long brothers in Lutton, on the borders of Cambridgeshire and Northamptonshire.

Today the farm produces over 500 tonnes of blueberries annually – but up to 20% of that was going to waste as supermarkets regarded that part of the crop as being either slightly too small or too soft – but otherwise still great quality, great tasting fruit!

This therefore got brother Stephen thinking; what can we do to prevent this wonderful fruit going to waste? Stephen looked across the pond to the US for inspiration and this is where he discovered blueberry wine!

Stephen has now become a UK expert in blueberry growing and has developed his own recipe for soil and nutrients for planting the bushes in to ensure the best flavour in every single berry!

He said: “Throughout the whole process, we wanted to maintain the integrity of the beautiful blueberries and that’s why the wine is not mixed with any grape juice and it is purely and simply 100% English blueberries.”

All three wines in the range are gluten free and vegan-friendly.
