Made For Drink Forges Meaningful Global Licence With English Heritage

Made For Drink has worked with English Heritage via their brand licensing programme to help champion England’s food producers through a new premium snack range.

Launching as a Christmas Exclusive into Fortnum & Mason with a four strong range of English Potato Crisps:

  • English Truffle
  • Dorset Sea Salt
  • Malt Vinegar & Sea Salt
  • Unseasoned Yorkshire Potato Crisps

Each telling the fascinating stories behind some of our countries most passionate food producers.

100% of our potatoes are proudly grown in Yorkshire.
They are then hand cooked less than 10 miles away by Tim and his team at Yorkshire crisps.
Picked and cooked on the same day, the potatoes are sliced thin, washed and hand cooked until crisp and golden. A beautiful English crisp cooked by artisans.

The English Truffle Company
One of the lesser-known luxury products of England. Truffles. Aromatic and of the earth, our English Truffle seasoning uses English truffles picked by James, his truffle dog Jack and a handful of their Truffle hunting friends across the South of England. Following redundancy in 2008, James took his dog on a truffle hunting course. Why not? It was the beginning of a fascinating new venture, the English Truffle company. Supplying many of the Michelin starred restaurants across the UK, James also runs truffle hunting courses in the autumn and we’re incredibly proud to use their Truffles in our seasoning.

Dorset Sea Salt
We love to tell Jethro’s story but more so to season our potato crisps (Dorset Sea Salt and Malt Vinegar & Sea Salt) with his beautiful produce.
Finding himself unemployed, Jethro was awarded a grant by the Princes Trust to re-kindle an ancient tradition on the Dorset coast. Today Jethro and his family hand harvest sea salt from Chesil beach in Dorset. Sold in many of the world’s most respected food & drink establishments, his salt is famed for its quality.

According to Dan Featherstone (Founder at Made For Drink):

“We’ve all learnt what really matters over the past year and that has had an impact on the food we are all starting to enjoy again. In particular a nostalgic return to the foods of our past, but also a surge in support for small, local producers. Our partnership with English Heritage celebrates all of this, and tells the wonderful stories behind many of our English food producers. Whilst we are launching with Potato Crisps there are many more fantastic products and stories to tell in the pipeline, keep watching this space.”

The five-year global licence with English Heritage will generate income to help English Heritage carry out vital conservation work at over 400 sites to keep the story of England alive for future generations.

Kingston Myles, Head of Commercial Development said, “These products really capture an authentic story which is at the core of our licensing programme. I’m excited to keep exploring the history of snacking and unlocking other English producers that this range can showcase.”
