Plant Consciousness Conference
Discover the conscious energetic world of plants and trees!
The Woodland Trust is collaborating with Plant Consciousness in a major weekend conference that will explore the natural and inherent connection between people and nature.
Plant Consciousness 2018, being held at London’s Regent University in leafy Regent’s Park from 29th-30th September, will focus on the conscious intelligence of plants and trees for healing, transformation and re-discovery of our place within nature.
Since the first Conference in 2014, Plant Consciousness has hosted some of the world’s leading and most dynamic plant healers, activists, deep-ecologists, researchers, shamans and eco-psychologists. The event, sponsored by Weleda, will bring together the higher intelligence of nature, how to connect and learn from it, and why it is essential for the development of consciousness and the well-being of the planet that we do so.
Events have continued to provide a forum for discussion and a focal point for a strand of understanding that continues to attract wider and wider audiences. This year the theme is ‘Earth protection and what we can all do to help change our relationship to our home’.
Event co-founder Davyd Farrell said:
“It’s become increasingly obvious to us and many others that humans are now in ‘the last chance saloon’. We have created so much destruction and pollution on the planet that we are endangering the future of not only ourselves as a race but every other species we share this beautiful planet with.”
“We are delighted to be working with the Woodland Trust and have them on the programme this year due to their ongoing and committed efforts to protect our ancient woodland. At this year’s event we will have a series of strong messages from indigenous communities about the plight of the environments that they are from, but also be offering solutions for personal and collective change. We believe strongly that the future of humans’ existence on this planet is a radical mindset shift that takes us away from the capitalist consumerist approach, which has led us to this situation, and to evolve into a more nature centric society that brings us back into balance with Mother Earth.”
The Woodland Trust’s Tree Charter lead, Kaye Brennan, added:
“We are only beginning to understand how trees ‘talk’ to each other, and research shows trees have heartbeats* too. The recent acknowledgement by the Government that our oldest woods and trees are irreplaceable within our heritage as well as in our landscape really underpins the cultural, historical and emotional significance of specific trees, woods and parklands to people, locally and nationally. Yet it’s clear that as a society we have lost our connection to nature, especially with trees, become disinterested in their value and complacent about their needs.
“But the leaves are turning. The Woodland Trust is delighted to be able to build on our relationship with Plant Consciousness and share how the Tree Charter is inspiring a social movement sparked from the embers of devastation and apathy, using nature’s gifts of trees to teach, house and heal us all.”
This year’s conference has attracted well-known international speakers including the ethnobotanist and activist, Linda Black Elk, Grant Thornton ‘Leader and Innovator Award Winner’ David Milarch, and Green Pharmacy author Barbara Griggs. The Woodland Trust will lead a workshop around the Tree Charter and its 10 principles that will include guided meditation for participants to reconnect with our living history.
Tickets are now available for the event, which promises attendees a weekend journey of discovery into the conscious energetic world of plants and trees for healing, personal awakening and activism: you will never look at nature the same way again!
