First Do No Pharm: An Unexpected Cure For Heart Disease

Over the past few years I have been following the work of Dr. Aseem Malhotra, an award-winning consultant cardiologist and one of the world’s most influential campaigning doctors. His new film, launched last night, is an exposé on pharma accountability.

I went to see First Do No Pharm at a packed cinema in Leicester Square, and it left a deep impression on me. The film shines a harsh light on a troubling reality: we are drowning in pharmaceuticals, pushed on us by an industry that has long abandoned its moral compass in favour of profit.

Power and profitable before patients

Big Pharma has become more powerful and profitable than ever before, infiltrating every corner of our healthcare system. What’s even more alarming is that the regulatory bodies meant to protect us seem to have become little more than puppets of these very corporations.

This is not a victimless crime. The human cost is staggering – lives are lost, suffering is prolonged, and the trust in a system that is supposed to heal us is eroded with every passing day. We’ve seen these pharmaceutical giants pay billions in fines, treating them like parking tickets, while their CEOs deliver hollow apologies before heading back to boardrooms to plan their next lucrative venture.

The scale of the problem is almost beyond comprehension. That’s what makes First Do No Pharm so powerful. It strips away the secrecy and exposes how our health has been commodified and exploited for decades. But this film isn’t just about exposing the truth; it’s a call to action.

It equips viewers with the knowledge and tools to fight back against a system that puts profit over patients. It shows you how to navigate this treacherous landscape and how to protect yourself and your loved ones from an industry that has lost all sense of humanity.

This is more than a documentary – it’s a rallying cry. And after watching it, I couldn’t agree more.
