How to take care of your Mental Health!!    

In these uncertain and critical times, there is a special emphasis being placed on mental mental health than ever before. Many people are paranoid and panicking about the current pandemic. Not only that, but lots of people are under stress about the loss of employment, unable to see loved ones and worried about other responsibilities. There are also folks, who have to work from home and supervise their children with virtual schooling. When all of these factors are added up, there is no surprise why stress and anxiety is very common now.

Fortunately, there are some tools and resources you can use to take care of your mental health. While you can probably get access to counselors and therapists via online, you can practice these simple mental health tips on your own – that doesn’t cost you a penny!

1. Meditation

There is no secret that meditation is good for one’s mental health and wellbeing. Meditation is an essential practice for clearing out your mind and practicing mindfulness. Incorporating meditation into your lifestyle is a great way to reduce your stress levels and anxiety especially during these days. While there are a variety of techniques to meditation, the well-known way for beginners is to start off with paying attention to breathing patterns. As you focus on your way of breathing, your mind will begin to become clear. If there are any thoughts that come up, just let them pass by.

2. Take small breaks throughout the break

Many people seem to be occupied with a number of things during the day. Rather it’s being busy with tasks at work, studying, taking care of children or running your own business – it is important for you to give yourself a break. Take some time throughout the day to just unplug from whatever it is your doing and unwind. Go for a walk outside and take in fresh air. Do something that interests you. Speak to a friend.

It’s important to give yourself a break, so you will not feel burned out and tired. You cannot be and perform at your best, if you are overburdened and under too much pressure.

3. Get out in Nature

There are numerous studies that explain the positive effects nature has on human wellbeing. Spending time in gardens, green spaces and parks with many trees is a great way to relieve yourself. It has been known that being in natural out-door environments can improve mood, lower stress, reduce anxiety and give a sense of peacefulness. So, try to make it a part of your “stress relieve” toolbox to get around some flowers and trees.

Make it a priority to take care of yourself and your mental health. The purpose of these tips is for you to incorporate them into your life and daily routine. I hope this article can be helpful to all of you.
